Wow this is a stunning work I must say! The diagonal composition and idea caught my attention straight away.
I really like your coloring technique and the overall choose of colors on this piece. The combination of soft strokes and the hard ones make the picture looking more detailed. The clothes connecting her to both water surfaces enhance the feeling of her flowing in this area.
The water looks real, yet painterly and the way you managed to paint the reflection of her body in the water with just few strokes is very neat. I have a suggestion though. Her red hair is the strongest color of the picture therefore I’d add more red color to the water reflection and a small part of it to the reaching hand.
However, I adore your skills of adding lights and shadows, for example using the same water ripples on her legs to reflect the light from the bottom and a BIG + for the little blue dots “touching” the body from above.
Overall, painting water and its reflection to different objects is very difficult but looking at this gorgeous piece I’ve got that feeling that it was easy as pie for you to draw. Not to mention the fact that you drew the girl between two water surfaces
this is a great piece of art, and an inspiration for me too.. it will help me to finish my "Mermaid of the cave" painting [link] that I'm retouching from two years without being satisfied Thank you !
